One of my many Carswell publications (updated until 2000) was The Practitioner's Ontario Taxes, Annotated, which
contained legislation and regulations for the major Ontario taxes.
Until 2000, I annotated this legislation and added explanatory Notes. (Since 2000 I have not had time to update it.) One of the statutes is the Retail Sales Tax Act, which enacts Ontario's provincial sales tax. Through my analysis and annotations I developed a special expertise in the PST. I have also done a substantial amount of work on behalf of clients, solving PST problems, dealing with the Ontario Ministry of Finance and making proposed PST assessments "disappear".
